Myrtle Beach South Carolina

Little Late for this post but May 14-17th my boyfriend and I traveled to Myrtle Beach for a long weekend getaway!

We stayed at the Sea Dip Hotel which was a little over a mile walk North of Pier 31 & about a 10 minute cab ride from the airport. We came to walk the beach and to relax, so we didn't do many of the touristy things just south of the pier. That area reminded me a lot of Wisconsin Dells or Gatlinburg Tennessee.

This was our view from out hotel room! We had a nice little balcony :)

I had never been to an Atlantic Coast Beach, I usually visit the Gulf Coast of Florida, so it was pretty different for me! The sand was definitely more rough than I am used to, a lot of broken shells. There was quite a bit more wind and waves, since I didn't have Florida blocking all of that. It was really cool to actually see some bigger waves though!

We found a really good bagel place closer to Breakers Hotel (the bagel shop is right next to the dollar general if you find that first) and we made that kind of our morning routine. We would walk the beach, stop at Starbucks for some coffee, get a bagel then walk the beach back to our hotel.

Myrtle Beach was definitely nice but a little too touristy for me! I loved the waves and just love getting to walk the beach, so it was perfect for a little get away. There was a pretty equal amount of younger adults to families to older couples, no one was too rowdy and we didn't have any problems!

My Opinion on Sea Dip Hotel --> The staff at the hotel was very very nice, welcoming and helpful (even called a cab for us to get to the airport). The hotel itself though was not the cleanest; our room had a weird smell to it when we got there and we ended up leaving our sliding door open all weekend to keep it aired out, it didn't seem as clean as it should've been either. Our room had a small kitchen which was really nice and helpful but they don't give you anything to do dishes or towels to dry them, so bring that stuff or walk over to the dollar general like we did. The lady at the front desk told us ahead of time that there was a little grocery store type of place across the street...it was basically a place to get drinks and mixers, they didnt have much else. Luckily we found the dollar general (as you can tell we made a lot of trips there) which had everything we needed to get us through the weekend. Since my boyfriend and I are both under the age of 21 it was very nice that this hotel let us check in on our own because the more we travel we are realizing the harder that is!
All in all it was a great trip, the hotel wasn't bad to just stay for the weekend and we had such a good time!

We're off next weekend to Toledo, Ohio!
